Clubs and Activities

When the school day ends at 3:00pm, that is when the extra-curricular activities are just beginning at St. Luke’s School.

Virtually every SLS student is involved in at least one extra-curricular club or activity during the school year.

Our vast list of clubs and activities range from athletics, educational, competitive and environmental to leadership and service-related offerings.

Athletics

St. Luke’s School is a member of the Catholic Athletic League (CAL) for competitive athletics in Rhode Island. Our teams include Cross Country, Basketball and Soccer (grades 4 and 5 and grades 6-8).  Some of the teams are co-ed and are designed to be fun for all participants. In 2023 our girls basketball team won the Division 2 championship! Most recently our girls cross country team won the 2024 Eastern Division championship!

St. Luke’s coaches are parent volunteers of current students and are trained and certified through CAL, background checked and certified in first aid. This is another great opportunity for our families to get involved in our school community!

The Arts

The Arts are an important part of St. Luke’s School, and they encompass so much, both in the curriculum of the classroom and as an extra-curricular activity.  As part of our regular school day curriculum, Art and Music are both taught in our beautiful and spacious studio located on the second floor of the convent building.

Our studio space enriches each child’s experience and encourages creative expression.

In addition to the art and music classes that all of our students in preschool-grade 8, our favorite schoolwide performance is our Christmas Pageant. Narrated by the 8th grade, all students in kindergarten through grade 7 participate.

In the spring, our students prepare and perform a musical production or participate in a theater workshop  and present to our school community!
