Background Check Information

Before you can be considered for any volunteer opportunity at the school you must first pass a Background Check (BCI).

This is managed by the Attorney General of Rhode Island.

To apply you will need to complete an application and provide a current driver’s license. The application form will need to be notarized (we have notaries on the premises).

If you are from Massachusetts, you will need to also complete a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) form along with a disclaimer form. These forms are available in the office.

The application process usually takes a couple of weeks, perhaps more at the beginning of the year. Once you apply, you should watch the Safe Environment video: so that you will be ready once we receive approval from the Office of Compliance and you come to the office to sign off on your approved status.
